IHOP AND CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS’
NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY: March 1, 2011
WHAT IS NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY? IHOP’s National Pancake Day is typically celebrated each year during the month of February. It traditionally falls on or around Mardi Gras (also known as Shrove Tuesday), and is a tribute to the centuries old English tradition in which all dairy products were used to make pancakes in preparation for Lent. This year, the event will take place on Tuesday, March 1. IHOPs throughout the country have long supported their local communities, and National Pancake Day is a wonderful opportunity for the IHOP system to come together in support of those communities and to say thank you to the guests who support IHOP year round.
2010 HIGHLIGHTS: National Pancake Day 2010 was IHOP’s biggest one-day event in the company’s 52-year history. More than $2.1 million was raised for charity, and more than four million pancakes were given away to guests. Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network Hospitals received over $46,500 from IHOP in 2010. Their best year ever!
