ORLANDO, FL, February 9, 2009 - Magic 107.7 concluded their ninth annual
radiothon for Children's Miracle Network sponsored by Foresters, at 7 p.m, Friday, February 6, raising $250,466 for Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. This brings Magic 107.7's total contribution to Children's Miracle Network to more than $2.5 million since the program began in 2001.

Dave Collins and Leslye Gale, the Magic 107.7 morning team, along with Program Director and afternoon host Ken Payne, began the three-day "Magic Cares for Kids" Radiothon at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. The show was broadcast live from the atrium of Arnold Palmer Hospital where the hosts interviewed hospitalized children and their families and hospital staff who care for them, asking listeners to call in pledges to benefit Children's Miracle Network.

Children's Miracle Network began in 1983 to raise funds for children's hospitals and awareness of the services they provide. Today, there are more than 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals worldwide. As a result, every dollar raised during the Magic 107.7 Cares For Kids Radiothon stays in Central Florida to support the pediatric programs at Shands Children's Hospital and Arnold Palmer Hospital through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network. The money is used to fund equipment, research and programs that ensure these hospitals provide the most advance level of medical care for children.
