Knight-Thon 2010 Quickly Approaches as UCF Students Unite to Raise Funds for Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network

Orlando, Fla.– Knight-thon will hold their annual 13.1 hour dance marathon in support of Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals on Saturday, March 27 from noon-1:06 a.m.

Knight-Thon is a university-wide initiative that calls attention to the local miracle children at both Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando and Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville. During the event, miracle families, health organizations, businesses and student participants come together to raise awareness about CMN. The theme for Knight-Thon 2010 is “Party with a Purpose.”  Visiting hours will be four hour increments from 1p.m. to midnight for a requested $10 entry donation. Community children and guests are welcome to attend. Special Guests will feature: Local miracle children, Howl at the Moon, Miss Orlando Vicky DeSanto, 106.7 FM and many more.

Knight-Thon is the University of Central Florida’s largest student-run philanthropy benefitting Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network. Students unite and raise money year-round to support thousands of kids in our local community each year. Knight-Thon directly supports the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. These funds support both Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando and Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville. Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals nationwide. Donations create miracles by funding medical care, research, and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children each year.
