Elementary Students Dance to Benefit Children's Hospitals

As part of Rollins College's inaugural Dance Marathon event, Fern Creek Elementary School will host its own mini marathon, "Dancing Like A Star," on Thursday, October 25th. Children will stay on their feet for an hour and a half at a time to support children at Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Community partners Rollins College and Fern Creek Elementary School are working together in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Dance Marathon, a student-run, campus-wide philanthropic event to benefit Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network (CMN).

The First Annual Dance Marathon at Rollins College will take place in the Campus Center on Saturday, November 10th from 2:00p.m.- 2:00a.m. Students are asked to raise funds and stay on their feet for 12 hours to benefit children at CMN's local children's hospitals. The event will include music, games, food, contests and testimonies from Miracle Children who have benefited from CMN and have overcome incredible odds. These Miracle Children are an inspiration to the dancers as they strive to complete the entire 12 hours awake and on their feet.

Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Money raised through Children's Miracle Network is used to purchase patient care equipment and fund programs and research that benefit more than 250,000 children treated at these two hospitals each year.
