Central Florida trail riders saddled up for the kids treated at Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children on Saturday, November 3, raising more than $25,000 through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network.

More than 130 riders participated in the 15th Annual Miracle Trail Ride, a marathon fundraiser on horseback, on 10 miles of beautiful trails in the Lower Wekiva State Preserve. Riders collected pledges for each mile of the ride. Prizes are awarded based on the amount of pledges turned in. Lisa Maloney was the grand prize winner, collecting over $3,000 in pledges. She received four tickets to Walt Disney World.

Net proceeds from the Miracle Trail Ride benefit Children's Miracle Network, an organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals across North America. Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children are the participating CMN hospitals in Central Florida. Proceeds are used to purchase patient care equipment, fund research, provide diversionary activities and purchase patient education materials.
