Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Opens Emergency Department Just For Kids

Hospital For Children celebrated the opening of the Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center.

This 23,500 square foot unit houses 33 beds, including a four-bed trauma bay, and is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic, lifesaving medical equipment and staffed with a full complement of pediatric subspecialists. The new facility includes a new helistop connector providing a direct route to the emergency department and trauma center as well as the operating rooms and the latest in diagnostic equipment.

The new Bert Martin’s Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center was fully funded by philanthropic support, including $1 million from Children’s Miracle Network sponsors to fund equipment in the new trauma room. The new emergency department is expected to serve more than 30,000 pediatric emergency patients this year.
