MINIATURE STOCK CAR RACE TO BENEFIT GREATER ORLANDO CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK

ORLANDO, FL, October 1, 2004 — Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network will host the fifth annual miniature stock car race, the Foresters Mini Grand Prix on Saturday, October 23, 20042.  The racetrack will be located at Oviedo Marketplace, 1700 Oviedo Marketplace Blvd, at Red Bug Lake Road and S.R. 417.

This unique event will have all the sights, sounds and feel of a real road race, complete with NASCAR- styled racecars, pit crews, pit stops, tire changes and electronic timing – a full day of race activities sure to entertain race fans of all ages.  In addition to the race, there will be food, games, entertainment and fun for the whole family.  These activities are open to the public, however, race cars are not available for general public participation.

Proceeds from the Foresters Mini Grand Prix will benefit the pediatric programs at Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children & Women through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network. This money is used to purchase patient care equipment and fund programs and research that benefit more than 250,000 children treated at these two hospitals each year.
