FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Orlando Predators Quarterback Shane Stafford helps Publix Super Markets and Produce for Kids® promote Healthy Foods For Kids

Orlando, Florida, June 20, 2007 -- Orlando Predators quarterback Shane Stafford and seven-year-old Tyler Youtz, a cancer survivor who was treated at Shands Children’s Hospital at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, got together for lunch on Saturday, June 16, at a Publix Apron’s Program seminar in conjunction with Produce For Kids® to teach kids how to make healthy food fun.

The event was held at the Publix Super Market at 2873 S. Orange Avenue in Orlando as part of the 2007 Publix Super Markets and Produce For Kids® fundraising campaign to benefit Children's Miracle Network.  Now through June 27, more than 900 Publix stores are participating in Produce for Kids® (PFK), the national program that promotes the importance of adding more fruits and vegetables to children’s daily diets and raises funds for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals serving local communities.

During this time, the following sponsors make a per unit donation to Children’s Miracle Network for each item that is shipped into Publix stores during the campaign: Chiquita® MiniTM Bananas; Country Fresh® Vegetable Platters/Celery Sticks; Del Monte Gold® Pineapple; Dole® Fresh-Cut Salads; Eat Smart® Fresh Cut Vegetables; Shuman Produce’s REALSWEET® brand Vidalia® Onions, T. Marzetti® Salad Dressings and Dips and Tropicana Pure Premium® Orange Juice packs.

Since 1994, Publix has raised nearly $12 million for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals throughout the southeast through their coupon balloon program and various events and promotions like Produce For Kids®.  Since that time they have contributed more than $1.1 million to Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network to help fund equipment, research and programs at Shands Children’s Hospital at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Central Florida’s participating Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
