Magic 107.7 "Cares for Kids" as it Kicks off its Eighth Radiothon to Benefit Children's Miracle Network

ORLANDO, FL, January 22, 2008 — Children's Miracle Network and Magic 107.7 will celebrate a major milestone during the 2008 “Magic Cares For Kids” Radiothon when the event surpasses $2 million in donations to Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network. The eighth annual Magic Cares for Kids Radiothon, sponsored by Foresters, will take place Wednesday, February 13 through Friday, February 15 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Dave Collins and Leslye Gale, the Magic 107.7 morning team, along with
Ken Payne, will kickoff a three-day “Magic Cares for Kids” Radiothon at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. The show will broadcast live from the atrium of Arnold Palmer Hospital where the hosts will interview hospitalized children and their families and hospital staff who care for them, asking listeners to call in pledges to benefit Children's Miracle Network. In 2007, more than 2,000 listeners called in during the broadcast to pledge their support and share stories of their own experiences at Shands Children’s Hospital and Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Foresters, a provider of life insurance and annuity products, is the founding sponsor as well as the international underwriting sponsor of the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon. As a result, every dollar raised during the Radiothon stays in the region to help children and their families at these two local children’s hospitals.
Children's Miracle Network began in 1983 to raise funds for children’s hospitals and awareness of the services they provide. Today, there are 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. The money raised through Children's Miracle Network sponsors and programs in each community benefits the local participating Children's Miracle Network hospitals. Proceeds from the Magic Cares for Kids Radiothon will benefit the pediatric programs at Shands Children's Hospital and Arnold Palmer Hospital through Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network. The money is used to fund equipment, research and programs that ensure these hospitals can provide the most advance level of medical care for children.
