Cory - Oviedo
Cory moved to Central Florida when he was eight years old and quickly became acquainted with Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. Cory has sickle cell disease - an inherited disorder in which red blood cells are abnormally shaped. This abnormality can result in painful episodes, serious infections, chronic anemia, and damage to body organs. He has become a "frequent flyer" at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children where he has been hospitalized several times each year to be treated for pain crises, infusions and blood transfusions. But through it all, Cory's condition never stops him from enjoying life or dims his bright smile. He loves playing video games and his favorite thing about Arnold Palmer Hospital is the playroom.
