Ally
Orlando, FL
When Ally was five years old, she began complaining of pain in her left leg just above her knee. Her pediatrician ran tests but determined Ally was suffering from growing pains. As the months passed the pain became more severe and Ally was referred to an orthopedic surgeon. She was admitted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children for further testing which determined the cause of her pain was a large, vascular tumor known as an osteoblastoma that encompassed the vertebrae and wrapped around her spinal cord. Ally was referred to another Children's Miracle Network hospital where a specialist performed a procedure to cut off the blood supply to the tumor then successfully removed the osteoblastoma along with the affected vertebrae. Today Ally is able to play her favorite sport, soccer, again thanks to the care of two Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
