Children have very special medical needs and children's hospitals are the only facilities that provide the customized care they can't live without. Children's Miracle Network hospitals like Shands Children's Hospital at UF and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children serve as regional referral centers providing specialized equipment and programs necessary to care for children with complex and catastrophic illness. They are research centers bringing research to the bedside to find answers to some of our greatest childhood medical challenges. And they are also advocates, promoting injury prevention, immunization campaigns and other steps to good health.
