As the official philanthropy on the UCF campus, Knight-Thon is a Miracle Network Dance Marathon where more than 1,000 college students unite to stand for kids who can't. Going into their 21st year, Knight-Thon has become a tradition amongst the UCF community, students, and alumni. Knight-Thon is an event unlike any other on the University of Central Florida's campus. It is a 20-hour dance marathon and year-long fundraising effort benefiting Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Every hour on the hour, students partake in a “Morale” dance taking them out of their comfort zone and into the dance marathon spirit. Students stand on their feet for the full 20-hour event. To inspire students to remain standing, ambassador families are welcomed onstage and so courageously share their stories of diagnosis, defeat, and newfound hope. It is an amazing opportunity to bring together the UCF community at one time for one purpose: to be a hero for the kids.
Last year, Knight-Thon set a goal of raising $820,000 and completely crushed that goal by raising $1,001,678.20! To donate or to learn more about Knight-Thon, visit their website here.
