Sunglass Soiree was Spectacular!
More than 250 guests gathered on New Year’s Eve to celebrate the last few hours of 2011 in style at the Sunglass Soiree hosted by the Orlando World Center Marriott.
The pre-dinner cocktail hour was abuzz with guests decked out in their best shades as they mingled and bid on a wide variety of exciting items. The evening continued to rev up as guests enjoyed an exquisite menu of culinary delights prepared by skilled chefs and signature mixologist styled libations of all kinds that created a non-stop adventure in dining like no other.

Local Dairy Queen Raises Most Funds for Local Kids on Miracle Treat Day
On December 23, the Dairy Queen location on International Drive was honored for raising the highest amount out of all Interstate Dairy Queen Corporation locations nationwide on MIracle Treat Day, which took place in August. The International Drive location raised $1,323 in a single day. That amount was then matched by Interstate Dairy Queen Corporation for a grand total of $2,646. This DQ location celebrated with a pizza party for their entire staff. I really enjoyed spending time with franchise owners Charlie and Hope Vilardebo and the rest of their staff. It is obvious how much they enjoy participating in Miracle Treat Day and really care about helping to make miracles happen for local kids.

19th Annual Miracle Trail Ride
Thank you for participating and contributing to the 19th Annual Miracle Trail Ride to benefit Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals on October 16th. 131 riders participated and more than $14,000 was raised to help local children treated at Shands Hospital for Children at the University of Florida and Arnold Palmer Hospital Medical Center. Our riders enjoyed riding the scenic trails of Rock Springs Run State Reserve. Also, a special thanks to IHOP and Carraba's for serving a delicious breakfast and lunch! We are so excited to plan a great event for our 20th Miracle Trail Ride next year!

Up, Up and Away!
This morning I attended the Central Florida Credit Union Chapter's annual golf tournament. Each year they have a golf ball drop before the start of the golf tournament. The winner wins $1,000 and the rest of the proceeds benefit Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network Hospitals! This year, I was picked to ride in the hot air balloon to drop the golf balls. It was quite the thrill- all for the kids! We really appreciate the support of our local Credit Union Chapter.

Miracle@Rollins - Dance Marathon
So we met with our awesome faculty advisors from Rollins College at Spice on Park Avenue. Yum-my! They were talking about an April 2012 date for the next event and we brainstormed ideas and had a great meeting. So looking forward to meeting Ruchi and Navreet who are the students who will oversee the event. During the meeting Ann Marie told us about the dance routine the faculty did last year and I couldn't believe I had missed it. So of course I had to share with you!

Miracle Treat Day was a Success!
The 6th Annual Miracle Treat Day was great! Miracle Kids and Miss Florida had such a great time getting behind the counter to make Blizzard treats and then getting to eat their favorite flavor. The lines were long at several Dairy Queen locations as people from the local community waited to get their Blizzard treat to benefit our kids. The DQ staff and owners were very friendly and genuinely excited to have the opportunity to help raise money for Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. We are already counting down the days until next year's Miracle Treat Day!

Miracle Treat Day!
I am getting so excited for Miracle Treat Day next Thursday, August 11th! All day long the Greater Orlando CMN Team will be visiting 12 participating Dairy Queen locations around Greater Orlando and eating tasty Blizzard Treats :). There will be Miracle Families and Miss America Organizations Titleholders visiting Dairy Queens and helping serve up Blizzards to customers. I am especially excited to try the Blizzard of the Month for August...Nutter Butter (I am a huge fan of peanut butter!) Who can think of a more fun way to make a difference in the lives of local children? Make sure to tell your family and friends to stop by a participating Dairy Queen next Thursday to get a Blizzard!

I know it's only June but I had a fabulous meeting today at the Orlando World Center Marriott to talk about the Hottest New Year's Eve party in Central Florida - The Sunglass Soiree! We had so much fun last New Year's that we just have to hold the event again. Keep an eye out for more info. Cathy

Greater Orlando CMNH Sam's Club Basketball Tournament
Sunday, April 10 five of our local Sam's Club locations participated in a basketball tournament. Each location practiced and then competed against one another. The associates and managers made up the teams while friends and families filled the stands! One of our sweet Miracle Kids, Emma, came with her faimly to share their personal story. Each location raised money before the event and proceeds from the concession stand were also counted! This was a great kick-off for the campaign that starts May 1. Thank you to all of the Clubs, GREAT JOB! We're looking forward to next year!
