In their 21st year, The University of Central Florida’s Dance Marathon program, Knight-Thon, made a promise to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to $1.2 million. They made a promise to work hard for more than 136,000 children that are treated each year at Arnold Palmer Hospital. Through year-long fundraising efforts, late-night meetings, and endless amounts of dedication Knight-Thon kept their promise and then some. With 1,350 student participants, they raised $1,250,961.21 all for sick and injured kids in Central Florida and beyond.
Until one month ago, my experience with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was sunshine, rainbows and fanny packs (shout out to all my Dance Marathon peeps). I participated in Dance Marathon at Florida State University and everything we did was exciting, energizing, and at times, humbling because of the Miracle Families we got to meet. But then, I started working for Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and it all changed.
First, let me say, it’s hard to believe that today is my one month anniversary! These 30 days have flown by in a blink of an eye. In just 30 days, I have learned more about myself and my true passions than I ever have before.
Before my daughter was born, I dreamt of the day that I would become a mother. I knew from when I was young I wanted to be a mom.
My mother, although no longer with us, was and will always be, my best friend. It is because of her and the amazing mom she was that instilled the want of becoming of a mother myself and having a family of my own.
Dairy Queen is back at it again with Free Cone Day!
A national sponsor since 1984, DQ operators have raised more than $100 million throughout the United States and Canada. DQ hosts multiple fundraisers throughout the year, including Free Cone Day to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
This year, on Tuesday, March 15 participating Dairy Queen locations will serve fans a free small vanilla cone and encourage their fans to leave a donation for their local CMN Hospitals.
Last year, a total of $140,000 was raised for CMN Hospitals and more than 1,330 cones per store were served during Free Cone Day! Let’s see if we can beat last year’s total!
The atrium of Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children was anything but quiet December 15th through 17th as MIX 105.1 hosted its fourth annual MIX 105.1 Loves Our Kids Radiothon benefiting Greater Orlando CMN Hospitals. With telephones ringing, volunteers cheering, and cowbells ringing to keep the excitement rockin’ and rollin’, we had three incredibly fun-filled days of raising funds and awareness for UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and Arnold Palmer Medical Center.
Thank you to Gary Boyer of Boyer Building Corporation for recently turning his birthday into more than just a party. He hosted more than 120 friends, family members and colleagues at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort as part of his 50th birthday party with one catch – guests would donate to his favorite charity, Greater Orlando CMN Hospitals.
His James Bond themed celebration helped raise $10,000 For The Kids! Read more here.

Shop for Miracles: a one-day Credit Unions For Kids fundraiser where members use credit union issued debit or credit cards on a specified day to earn a donation for their local CMN Hospitals with each transaction they make.
With our second Shop For Miracles in the books, one of Greater Orlando’s Credit Unions For Kids leaders, FAIRWINDS Credit Union, hosted yet another successful Shop For Miracles day for their members this year.
In 2014, FAIRWINDS members spent International Credit Union Day shopping around town and more than $1,300 was donated to Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This year, members more than quadrupled their impact through Shop For Miracles and FAIRWINDS donated $8,914 to help sick and local kids at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital and Arnold Palmer Medical Center!
Did you know that Credit Unions across North America have partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals under the “Credit Unions For Kids” brand since 1996?
Since Credit Unions are member-owned, not-for-profits, their main focus is their members and their community. Driven by the philosophy of “people helping people,” their partnership with CMN Hospitals is a testament to the impact they seek to create in their communities.
Through years of raising funds and awareness for local CMN Hospitals, Credit Unions For Kids has become the third largest corporate partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and we could not be more thankful for the support. But today, we are not only thankful for our Credit Union partners, we celebrate them because it is International Credit Union Day!
